Red5studio and Ben Decor have recently designed and built the September coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, that features a facade and interior that’s been inspired by a bird’s nest.
The multi-storey coffee shop has a façade that’s covered with ribbon-like steel elements that look like woven twigs.
The steel strips have been used to create a dimensional façade with a variety of curves.
At night, the steel strips are highlighted with hidden lighting.
At the front of the coffee shop is a curved outdoor seating area that’s setback from the sidewalk, while the front door is noticeable due to the circular accents.
The interior of the coffee shop uses gentle neutral tones such as white, beige, rose-orange, and natural wood colors. Accenting these tones are plants of varying heights and types.
The designers have also tried to create an atmosphere of bringing the garden into the house, creating an “indoor but outdoor” feeling suitable for guests to sit fast or sit around the bar looking at mixing.
Different staircases connect the various levels of the coffee shop, with each level having unique seating areas, from small tables with a couple of chairs, to counter seating overlooking the lower level, and benches.
Another level is open to the outdoors and has an accent wall with circular elements that complement the matching windows above.
The coffee shop also has a variety of outdoor seating areas on different levels that have views of the neighborhood.
